At Santini we’ve been focusing on specialist cycle clothing since the mid-1960s. Our garments have always been highly sought-after by riders looking for market-leading comfort and performance advantages, so it was inevitable that we would ultimately forge fruitful relationships with many of the world’s leading race events and riders.
Our deep passion for creating state-of-the-art clothing is powered by the pure drama of racing, and by our pride in helping each athlete to reap all available benefits from what they wear. Every clothing item we create is developed by our dedicated research and design team, and our lust for cycling means we constantly use rider feedback in considering all aspects of design and performance. We constantly invest in the evolution and development of new materials, construction techniques and patterns to ensure that every item in our collection is primarily designed with specific rider and riding conditions in mind, then engineered and constructed to deliver perfect performance for both grassroots riders and World Champions.
We have strong and mutually beneficial working relationships with the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) World Championship and RCS Sports events such as the Giro D’Italia, the Tirreno-Adriatico, Il Lombardia, Milan-San Remo and the Tour Down Under. We also have a long history of supporting some of the best UCI WorldTour teams and riders as well as many grassroots clubs and racers.
Our innovative and unique cycling clothing has exclusively clothed UCI World Champions and World Cup winners since the mid-1990s. From road to mountain bike racing, BMX, cyclo-cross, track, trials and even artistic cycling we’ve always been passionately proud to dress the world’s very best riders in both individual and team events, across all the different age categories.
A Santini World Championship jersey is the pinnacle of achievement for every rider, whatever discipline they specialise in. The distinctive rainbow bands are treated with absolute respect by other riders, event organisers and the media, so slipping on that jersey while standing on top of the podium is going to be a highlight of any competitive rider’s career.
The bands, coloured green, yellow, black, red and blue from bottom to top, appear in the rings of the Olympic flag – and the jerseys are unique to cycling disciplines sanctioned by the governing body of the cycling world, the UCI.
World Cup events in cycling are season-long competitions, with both individual race winners and overall points leaders being presented with Santini’s highly prized podium jerseys at each event. Overall series winner jerseys are as well respected as individual World Championship jerseys, simply because of the consistency needed to perform at top level for a whole season of racing.
At Santini we are proud to supply the iconic Maglia Rosa race leader’s jersey as well as the jerseys presented to other category leaders at the Giro d’Italia. We also provide the jerseys for other RCS Sports races, the Tirreno-Adriatico, Il Lombardia, Milan-San Remo . The overall race and category leaders, team and individual winners are presented with our jerseys, which become framed mementos of a rider’s career highlights.
The Giro d’Italia was first organised in 1909 to boost sales of the newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport. With a few editions cancelled in world war years it’s now close to celebrating its 100th edition. As one of cycling’s greatest three-week Grand Tours, it’s a wonderful opportunity for the world’s best road riders to compete for a highly valued assortment of jerseys rewarding the talents of every discipline in road racing.
Each day sees Santini jerseys presented for the stage winners, overall general classification leader and team leaders, plus the highly prized blue jersey for the mountains leader, red for the points leader and white for the best young rider. We have been supplying the iconic pink race leader’s jersey, the Maglia Rosa, since 1993, and feel a sense of great pride that this has been worn by many of cycling’s true icons on their way to some of their most celebrated victories.
The Australian Tour Down Under has quickly become a strong focal point for European riders seeking early-season form before they launch headlong into a spring campaign that includes stage races such as the Tirreno-Adriatico, which in turn sets riders up for spring classic events such as Milan-San Remo. Together with the late-season Il Lombardia, these are all events that Santini is passionate about and proud to support in the supply of jerseys for the riders who succeed.
From 1997 l’Eroica is a example of development of the environmental heritage, of the sustainable lifestyle of clean cycling. A world where everyone is the hero in his own way: where the important thing is to show that you can sacrifice with a smile for a healthy passion. This is the event which ispired an entire movement. L’Eroica draws its inspiration from classical cycling, from black and white images published on newspapers of the early 1900′s to the times of the Bartali and Coppi duel, to more recent times when pedal cages and shifters on the down tube where still the main option on road racing bikes. After exporting L’Eroica experience successfully in Japan and Great Britain, we have enlarged the list of Eroica events in the World, with stages such L’Eroica California or L’Eroica Hispania.
L’Eroica is first of all a way of living cycling: old style bikes, old white roads and vintage accessories: everything recall the past times, and the clothing are important too. For this reason, here at Santini, where passion for cycling and for his strong values are a true philosophy, we’re proud to be official partners of L’Eroica for the 2015/2017 period, creating the perfect clothes to accompany fans on the streets of a cycling that still lives thanks to their deeds.
