SANTINI SUPPORTS TEAM LEANDA CAVE TO EMPOWER WOMEN THROUGH TRIATHLON
Leanda Cave, the first female triathlete to have won both the Ironman Full Distance and 70.3 World Championships in the same year, has launched an all-woman triathlon team that will involve selecting a group of highly-motivated women from various backgrounds.

Through Team Leanda Cave (TEAM LC), sixteen (16) athletes/ambassadors will be selected to embark on a training program and receive the kind of support that only being part of a close-knit team can deliver. When the launch of TEAM LC was announced, online entries were coming in at such a rapid pace that the application process had to be shut down after a week. With the overwhelming and enthusiastic entries, TEAM LC is well on its way to empower women through triathlon.
The project is backed by the Leanda Cave Foundation and the triathlete’s own sponsors, including Santini who will be supplying racing and training tri-kits, as well as their new line of bathing suits. Santini has pledged to invest in this initiative which it fully endorses. “Triathlons are attracting a growing number of female athletes, and we at Santini want to take a leading role in Team LC and provide the right tools to make this a success and promote women’s’ growth in triathlon.” Says Paola Santini, Marketing Manager.
“To be part of the team, each woman had to complete an online form, answering specific questions related to their personal history, abilities, be able to share their experiences via social media, as well as any involvement with not-for-profit organizations..” Leanda explained.
“My goal is to support our women ambassadors by providing them with the tools to succeed. In 2016, TEAM LC will be focusing their initiative in the US, with a vision of expanding to other countries in the very near future.” Concludes Cave.
TEAM LC is supported by sponsors, including Santini, raising funds through online product auctions and direct donations. The clothing made specifically by Santini for TEAM LC will also be available from our online store with proceeds going to the Leanda Cave Foundation.
