We are happy to announce that we will be the technical clothing partner to the prestigious Dutch-registered Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team. We are particularly proud of this new relationship because of the importance it places on women’s cycling as attested to by the custom kit and other special garments it is designing and making exclusively for the team members.

The first contact between Santini and the team was made in 2016 when the former supplied the leader jersey for Lizzie Armistead during the Women’s World Tour. «It is extremely important for us to be able to work with one of the strongest teams on the Women’s World Tour - confirmed Santini’s marketing manager Paola Santini - as it will help us to develop and test our women’s products. We believe very strongly in and are committed to the development of women’s cycling».

«We have found a fantastic new partner in Santini, who is also the clothing supplier to the UCI - said Boels Rental marketing manager Yvo Hoppers, Santini’s products and service are rooted in their passion for the sport. We’re very pleased to work with them for the next two seasons».

The Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team was founded in 2012 and comprises 11 athletes of different nationalities who, in 2016, won 41 races and became the number one ranked team at the end of the 2016 season. Members include great champions of the likes of Lizzie Armistead, who won the women’s World Championships road race in Richmond, Virginia in 2015, and Amalie Dideriksen, who took the women’s world road race title in Doha in 2016. Also on the team are Megan Guarnier, who topped the individual rankings of the 2016 Women's World Tour and is reigning US national road race champion, and Katarzyna Pawlowska, who won the women’s scratch race at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in 2012 and 2013 followed by the points race at the same event in 2016.

The Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team athletes will be wearing top-of-the-range kit from our women’s Custom line. We will also be creating additional items exclusively for the Dutch team, including a time trial speedsuit.

The garments created for the Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team are particularly aerodynamic and high performance but, of course, also designed for a stylish, feminine look to ensure that the team members not only feel good on their bikes but look good too.

The main kit spans a jersey and bib shorts featuring an orange and yellow pattern on a navy blue background (the colours of the team sponsor), which lends the overall outfit a touch of originality. The aerodynamically-cut jersey is made from the same fabrics as the Giro d’Italia’s Maglia Rosa. The front, collar, sides and back pockets are all in Rudy, a light, breathable fabric, while the back and sleeves are made from Bodyfit which, as the name suggests, guarantees a perfect, body-hugging fit. The sleeves are raw cut too, which makes them extremely comfortable, while an invisible zip is the perfect finishing touch to the jersey. The stand-up collar is another interesting feature. The bib shorts are made from both Thunderbike Lycra, an exceptionally abrasion-resistant fabric that delivers gentle graduated compression, and printable New Monica Lycra for the side sections. The mesh braces are designed to cross at the front of the chest to suit the female anatomy, while the leg cuffs feature a raw-cut gripper band that hugs the muscle like a second skin and gently but firmly stays in place. The bib shorts also boast the innovative C3 Woman chamois which is wonderfully light but guarantees exceptional comfort and shock absorption. This is due in great part to Carving Technology which involves sculpting two overlapping foams to reduce overall volume and build up layers without any need for stitching or gluing. The C3 Woman chamois is specifically shaped to follow female contours, and offers perfect grip and optional fit for complete freedom of movement.
